Running some errands, I stopped at our lovely central post office, a.k.a. the James Farley Post Office, zip 10001.
Hey look, a curated exhibit: The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition™. I can only guess it’s at the NYC Post Office because of the newest inclusion or exclusion (who can keep up?) of the Going Postal Disorder. I never realized DSM-V was an exhibition catalogue. It all makes sense now.
(A nice review of the DSM-V at the London Review of Books.)
Speaking of imbalance, it’s a good time to note how lopsided NYC is. See those horizontal lines (the steps, the poster, the pretty thing in the archway)? You will not find two in NYC that are even. Not two. I spend an inordinate amount of time trying to make photos look even, but it’s impossible, as the contents are not. I understand, NY. I’m quite lopsided myself.
